Like live unboxing videos, animated unboxing videos have become increasingly popular in the last couple of years particularly for deluxe CD and vinyl releases.

When the Sex Pistols were re-releasing a number of old 1970s live recordings in a deluxe set, we were asked to make an animation for it.

Using the artwork assets provided by the label, we created the 3D models of the box and vinyls within it and complimented them with digital camera moves. We developed a raw, punk-tinged visual style to fit with the bands aesthetic but without going too messy and over the top. Backing the visuals was a mix of the bands raw, energetic live recordings.
