Composer Chris Broom approached us about filming a music video for his original composition “Starlight” which was taken from his self penned musical theatre show. The video would be used to raise funding and generate interest for his theatre show.

The song was sung and performed for the video, by the talented Lydia Gerrard and was filmed at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London.

We wanted to create a look reminiscent of old musical theatre numbers in which the background was bathed in blue light and the singer was lit naturally. Lydia walks on stage and emerges into the light, performing against the blue, smoke filled background.

We shot in a simple, straightforward style to allow the focus to remain on Lydia and the song so as to fully capture her classic musical theatre performance…
